NaNo Day 29 – On Board

Wow! What a week it has been. The past few days have been pretty intense with doctor’s appointments, vet appointments, holiday preparation, then the big turkey day, Thanksgiving and finally here I am . Back to the blog. There have been a few nights I wasn’t able to reach the minimum word count due to exhaustion, but getting a few hundred words in was progress! Still, I have today and tomorrow left to reach the goal of 50,000. I am looking to go over, but the way I feel right now with exhaustion I’ll be happy to cross the finish line. I’m gonna try!! So I best get off here and get going.

Current Word Count At 10:23 AM EST: 47,963

NaNo Days 20 & 21 – Round Up

The past two days I hadn’t done my usual blog post before my NaNo writing and then one after I was finished. I’m not sure how many realized that, but that’s okay. The past few nights I had been staying up until like 2 in the morning trying to get ahead on my word count because I know I have two doctors appointments, a vet appointment and plus preparations for Thanksgiving on Thanksgiving Eve, cooking on Thanksgiving and UGH! So much! but it all has to be done.

And three days after that, is my daughter’s birthday and I need through a party. And the following day, gluten free cupcakes at school. But alas, my daughters birthday and the cupcakes at school are in December, so I guess that doesn’t count. But it is still on my mind.

So yes, for the past couple of days I have either met or exceeded my word count to make my current word count 40,195.

Time to go get some tea and pray before another writing session.

Good luck!

NaNo Day 14 – Pre Writing Prep Work

Number 14

Well here we are on NaNo Day 14. Last night I printed off my proposed seven chapters. I say proposed because I have a feeling chapters and their division areas will change.  I plan on reading over those, making notes, or additions, where necessary just to fill in the timeline gaps and help me get a better mental picture of the events I need to happen. Hopefully, this will help me get an idea of where I need to be writing this evening.

But for now, it is time to take the dogs out, stop at the post office, and then drop my daughter off at school.

Good luck everyone and God bless!

General Updates

Busy Brain

I’m sitting here in my living room with my four year old playing with her toys on the floor and my husband reading on his Nexus 7 tablet. I am honestly trying to relax, but the creative and imaginative spirit in me is too anxious and exited to let me sit still. My brain is running in zips and zings with ideas of manuscripts almost to their first draft stage. These manuscripts are:

A Daughter’s Reflection and The History of Watertown, NY

Then I am in the process of reformatting my book The History of Sackets Harbor, New York, so I can add it to the Smashwords.com library. I am also going to add it to Kobo. I have also lowered the price of the Kindle ebook from $6.99 down to $4.99. The more I thought about it, would I really be willing to buy an ebook at $6.99? Not so much. At $4.99, yeah. I would.

I also have some notes I need to work on for Voice4Society. So much is flaring in this brain of mine. I try to relax but knowing I have so much work to do it makes it hard. Being a homemaker and stay at home mom, plus a writer has its challenges. Oh, and then there is school work!

So my task for today….prioritize! And then set a schedule. Ha! (Sorry. An ALF moment there!) I do pretty well prioritizing, it is schedules I find hard to keep because I take my time doing things so I do them right and to enjoy what I. I don’t like rushing anything unless absolutely necessary. Guess we shall see what happens. I know what I really WANT to work on and then what MUST be worked on. It is so hard to put the WANT behind and do what SHOULD be done and what I have committed myself to doing for another. I must do what is right. I shall work on an article for Voice4Society during the day today and then tonight, perhaps that is when I’ll work on my books.

So with that, I am off. To drink some Yerba Mate tea and do some research and study in the Bible. have a great day!
