I set up my author central page at each of these in hopes of letting other potential readers learn a little more about me and get to see my lovely face. ūüėČ If you are looking to add your author profile to these sites here are the links:

“Once Within A Lifetime” Book Formatting

Wow! I cannot believe how long it has been since I have posted something. I have been so busy helping an elderly friend format her book Once Within A Lifetime into Kindle and paperback forms via CreateSpace. I also worked with her ideas to create the cover of the book. A few days ago I finished the book cover and yesterday I finished formatting the book for Kindle. I have learned many lessons along the way just about publishing on Kindle.

When I first started publishing my own books on Kindle, I just formatted them the way a book would be formatted to go to a traditional publisher. I had no idea at the time that there was a specific way to format books to look there best on a Kindle. So this time, I used my PC Kindle Reader and used the book: Building Your Book For Kindle

Wish I had known of this book when I published my first Kindle books. I know I will have to go back and redo at least one of them.

Today I finished formatting Once Within A Lifetime for CreateSpace using a 6×9 book template from the CreateSpace website.

I finished the book cover using images from www.morguefile.com and the software programs Picasa and Gimp.

I still have a lot to learn in the book design and marketing/promotion area but I know that will come in time as I continue reading on the subjects and practicing.

Once Within In A Lifetime is available in Kindle format and soon to be in paperback format. The next format after that would be audiobook through www.acx.com.

God bless, and may God guide you through all your writing and publishing adventures!

Take it from one of my reviewers:

A fantastic read for a history buff & on my wish list for places to visit!, January 25, 2013

This author from Watertown, has really done her homework on the History of Sackets Harbor, New York. This is the best researched and most well-written book on the history of a mid Atlantic state that I have had the pleasure to read. It is worthy of textbook material for high school and college students because the history lessons are rich, including highly detailed accounts of the Sackets Harbor regions and shipyards, and its national importance during the War of 1812. Lots of important and notable people are covered within the history accounts of this famous village, founded by Augustus Sackett over 200 years ago. The author brings the history up to date, with descriptions of the area sites, museums and shops that are tourist attractions today. With the beautiful lake views and railroad, I’m ready to take a trip to this historical place myself and I have placed it on my wish list of places to visit. What a great learning tool this book is, that gives new nuggets of info with each re-read of it — lots of information that can be studied and enjoyed. It’s a five-star hit for me!

Camp NaNoWriMo, Sackets Harbor, Writing Updates

Kindle Books

I’ve been busy today putting together some small poetry manuscripts for Kindle. The three that I published today were: Heat of the Night: A Collection of Poetry on Love, Day & Night: A Collection of Nature Poetry, and Everlasting Arms: A Collection of Religious Poetry. I think I had them set to sell for $0.99 but I will have to double check¬†that. I also published, The History of Sackets¬†Harbor, New York. Once the links become available for these works I will put up another post. Now that those are done¬†I am going to get to work on Facade. I still need to work on some background information for characters and the bare bones of an outline all before tomorrow when Camp NaNo starts. Shall be fun! Sure can’t wait for tomorrow! I check back in then!
