Camp NaNo Eve

It is 6:50AM Eastern time on Camp NaNo Eve! That’s right everyone I said it. Camp NaNo Eve ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Ech em. Sorry about that. A little excited!

No seriously thouhg, are you ready either your next novel or work more on your current one? Are you going to plan out your novel like James Patterson does and like I learned to do, or are you going to be a pantser? Which way works for you?

I have to tell you the truth. I wasn’t always someone who planned out their stories. I started out that way and found it a huge help but when my kids and married life came along time was short so I just didn’t off the seat of my pants, but I had a much harder time with my novels. So after taking James Patterson’s Masterclass he highly stresses to plan out your novels and to write an outline. I was like, “Okay. I”ll give it a try. I know outlining isn’t for everyone.” So I gave it a try and found outlining pretty easy to do and that it made things so much easiwer for me. So we’ll see how I do with this next month’s nano having an outline. I’m looking forward to it. Are you?

Doing Well on the Writing Wave

Lately I have been doing well with writing and outline my next book, but not so good with keeping up with my posts for my blog.

I have about 50,000 words on my story Facade but it’s not finished yet, I have the rest of the story outlined and Camp NaNo is coming up in just a few days so I hope to finish the story then. I have no idea how long it will be but I’m curious to find out.

The main character is Wesley who is based off of Elvis Presley. His brother Keith is the older brother who in Elvis’ live did not survive. But the twin brother did survive in my story. Wesley could sing and Keith could not so there was a lot of jealousy in the book. Even though Keith discovered his drawing ability it was not enough for him and he’s so enraged he almost kills his brother. And that is about as far as I’m letting on. lol I don’t want to reveal too much.

That book is called Facade and my next book is called The Forgiving which is turning out to be a Christian fiction book so far. I hadn’t much in my story until I used Rory’s story cubes the original box and the actions box. I now have other ideas and actions to work with.

And I think you may have all heard about James Patterson’s Masterclass well I took that and I have been inspired to change some of my ways. Like go commercial publishing instead of self publishing. So once I have Facade written and edited a couple of times, I’m going to seek a literary agent. Yeah sure I may get rejected several times like 30 or so, but that’s okay. Because other writers have done it before me and made it. I believe I can do it too.

So Camp NaNo here I come and here’s hoping to finish my first fictional story!
